Lake Saiful Muluk:
This lake is nothing short of breath-taking. Saiful Muluk lake located near the town of Naran at the northern end of the Kaghan Valley, at an altitude of 3,224 m (10,578 feet). The lake is located in the northern end of Kaghan Valley. The lake has total surface area of over 2.5 square kilometer. The lake is famous for its fairy tale of Saiful Maluk.
Ansoo Lake :
The name Ansoo comes from its tear-like shape. The lake also resembles a human eye with a central ice island resembling the iris and a ridge resembling an eyebrow, It is located at an altitude of 4,126 M (13,537 ft) near Malika Parbat in the Himalayan range. This lake is considered to be one of the most beautiful lakes of the world. Ansoo Lake is a high-altitude lake located in the Kaghan Valley in Mansehra District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pakistan.
Rush Lake :
Rush Lake is the highest lake in Pakistan, situated near Rush Pari Peak at 5,098M. It is one of the highest alpine lakes in the world. The trek to Rush Lake provides spectacular views of Spantik, Malubiting, Miar Peak, Phuparash Peak and Ultar Sar. located about 15 km north of Miar Peak and Spantik (Golden Peak), which are in the Nagar valley. The lake can be reached via Nagar and Hopar and via the Hopar Glacier (Bualtar Glacier) and Miar Glacier.
Karambar Lake :
One of the most amazing scenes that any tourist can find is that of a lush green valley giving way to snow clad mountains which are covered with snow the year round, and in the middle of that amazing valley, a lake which is aquamarine like a jewel glistening in the sun. Located between KPK and Gilgit, Baltistan, Karambar Lake is the second highest lake in Pakistan and the 31st highest lakes in the world. The best time to visit the lake is when the season is open and there is no snow near or on top of the lake.
Shangrila Lake :
The lake is also known as Shangrila Lake and is located at a drive of about 20 minutes from Skardu town. The Shangrila Lake spot second amongst the most beautiful lakes of Pakistan. The lake is also known as Lower Kachura Lake. The lake is a part of the Shangrila resort and is a popular tourist destination. Shangrila was established in 1983 with the opening of the first Resort Hotel in Skardu, Baltistan. It was named “heaven on earth” because of its spectacular beauty,and breathtaking view and peaceful atmosphere.
Banjosa Lake :
Banjosa Lake is situated 20 kilometers from Rawalakot at an altitude of 1981 meters. Its picturesque beauty and impressive surrounding is compelling and attract tourists to reach here and enjoy the nature. Amidst the captivating beauty of Banjosa, the artificial lake reflects the dense forests standing along the surroundings of the resting calm waters of Banjosa Lake. The lake is surrounded by densely pine forest and lush green mountains, that makes it very charming and romantic. It is accessible by a 20 kilometers metallic road from Rawalakot.
Sheosar Lake :
Sheosar Lake is situated in the Deosai Plateau, which is one of the highest plateaus of the world. The plateau is called by many sources ” Bed of Flowers” because of its beautifully colorful with all sorts of flowers. The lake with an approximate length of 2.3 kilometers, width 1.8 kilometers, and average depth 40 meters, is at an elevation of 13,589 ft in the Karakoram-West Tibetan Plateau alpine steppe. The lake is accessible through two routes. One is via Skardu and the other via Astore District. The road through Skardu can be covered by jeep in few hours, however, if trekked, it can take 2 days time. Between the months of November to May the whole area of Deosai is snow bound. However, the area is full of natural beauty during Spring and Summer Season. During spring, the whole surrounding gets covered with wide variety of colorful flowers and butterflies. The best time of visiting this beautiful lake is in summer between June to September.
Ratti Gali Lake :
The Ratti Gali Lake is an alpine glacial lake which is located in Neelum Valley, Azad Kashmir. Ratti Gali Lake is a place you ever dreamed to visit. Undoubtedly, this lake is more beautiful than anyone can dream. That’s why, the famous writer Mr. Mustansar Hussain Tarar calls this lake, A Dream Lake. The lake is fed by the surrounding glacier waters of the mountains. The lake is accessible from Dowarian by an unmetalled 19 kilometers road cum hiking trek through breath-taking sites. Dowarian is the base camp to this lake.
Attabad Lake :
Attabad Lake is a natural and beautiful lake formed in 2010 after a huge landslide at Attabad Hunza, Gilgit Baltistan, Pakistan. Attabad Lake is also known as the Gojal Lake and is situated in Hunza’s Gojal Valley. Hunza is already very famous around the globe for its mesmerizing beauty and Attabad Lake became another attractive spot for tourists. Today, it is visited by millions every year by people around the country as well as by international tourists. The length of Attabad Lake is around 14 kilometers, it takes around two hours to reach the other end of the lake (Gulmit) from the starting point of the Lake (Attabad).
Chitta Katha Lake :
Chitta Katha Lake is a deep bowl shaped body of water is mostly snowbound during the year. The surrounding of lake is very calm and peaceful. Chitta Katha Lake is next to Chittakatha Sar and is located in Azad Kashmir, Pakistan. Chitta Katha Lake is located in Shonter valley, Azad Kashmir, Pakistan at the altitude of 13,500 feet (4,100 m). Chitta Katha Lake is a beauty at the elevation of 13,500 feet. Chitta Katha literally means White Stream, and it is a name given by locals.
Naltar Lake :
The three Naltar Lakes in Pakistan are a prime example of both of these great qualities. One of the most amazing things about the three Naltar Lakes is that they are in very different colors. While Naltar One is clear and calm like a crystal clear drop of rain, the Naltar 2 and Naltar Lake three are of amazing hues from aquamarine to azure. The lakes are located in the Naltar Valley which in itself is part of the Gilgit Baltistan Province in the northern part of Pakistan. The closest towns to the valley are those of Nomal and Hunza.
Mahodand Lake :
Mahodand Lake is situated in the Hindu Kush range of mountains at an elevation of 9,400 feet (2,850 metres) and spreads over two kilometres by length approximately. It took us around three hours to cover a distance of 35 to 40 kilometres from Kalam to the lake. Mahodand Lake literally means the Lake of Fishes. It is accessible by a four-wheel drive vehicle and is often utilised for fishing and boating.
