Banjosa Lake is the only planned tourist resort in Rawalakot. Some tuck shops are also present at the lake but not properly managed and arranged. Weather is pleasant in summer and occasional snowfall in winter. Available area for development is around 5 acres.

There are some very luxurious guest houses and hotels near Banjosa Lake. The Government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir has built some fascinating resorts around the lake, which can be booked from the AJK office in Rawalakot. Some private hotels and restaurants are also built within walking distance of the lake which offer delicious meals with other facilities at economical prices.

Banjosa Lake is a pollution free entity and a cooler spot of Rawalakot city. Summer experience 15°c to 25°c temperature, whereas winter is very cold, snow fall makes winter extreme cold in the months of January and February, whereas rest of the year weather remains pleasant. During moon soon valley receives heavy rains in the month of August and September. Before fall season the region gets covered in the hues of first gold then russet.

Banjosa Lake is the only planned tourist resort in the area. Staying in one of the rest houses constructed in the surroundings of the lake is a truly delightful experience. One can enjoy boating in the lake, reading a book or listening to music while admiring the beauty of the area. Boating in lake is available, visitors especially children and women enjoy boating in pleasant weather under the shade of tall pine trees. In winter due to snowfall boating facility is not offered. Boating charges for a paddle boat is Rs.400.
