Taobat Is A Last Village In Neelum Valley, Azad Kashmir, Pakistan. It is located 200 KM from Muzaffarabad, 38 km ahead of Kel, is a fascination yet unexplored. It is the last tourist resort in Azad Kashmir, at this point the Kishenganga River becomes the Neelum River. Halmat, Tao Butt, Janawai, and Sardari are the most beautiful places around here.
A tourist rest house has been constructed at Halmat to provide accommodation facilities to the visitors. It has a sever season and heavy snow in winter, and winter season continue about 6 months starting from October to April end. there are no signs of path due to land sliding and flooded water streams. In summer it is a worth place for tourist to visit.
Taobat is accessible from Kel by un-metaled road. You must hire jeep from Kel to access Taobat, as passage is only suitable for jeeps. The jeep journey from Kel to Taobat is the real adventure of the Neelum Valley. There are number of beautiful villages, waterfalls, and fishing spots in the way to Taobat. The journey to Taobat is full of beautiful and pictureous scene everywhere, due to that reason 39 km may takes 5-7 hours to reach at Taobat.
The Neelum river enter the premises of Azad Kashmir flowing down through the Taobat. It’s the very first place where we can find population while descending down the Neelum Valley along beautiful The Neelum River. There are number of huts available to stay within the natural view of lush green fields. River sides are very wide here, so you can also enjoy trout fishing here.
Some of the tourist places of Neelum Valley are situated in the range of Line of Control, therefore sometimes it becomes difficult to visit these areas. So before visiting the valley, the visitors are required to get permission from concerned department.
